One Sketch a Day - September

All Work and No Play

It's been a while since I've been able to paint clouds. Time is a luxury for me as I now have three jobs: I work Monday to Friday with case-goods design for hospitality, I teach art Saturday and Sunday, and I do freelance on the side when I get home from those jobs. It took me a couple of months just to finish this little digi-painting. It's been hard, but those student loans gotta get paid...

Clouds!

A couple of clouds I made using Procreate for iPhone.

Minimal Sky

Seal Beach

I take PCH everyday to go to work. It takes me longer than going on the 405, but I prefer it because I get to see the ocean. The other day I took off from home earlier than usual, so I had time to stop and make a quick iPhone sketch.

iPhone Clouds

Painting with my phone helps me keep things general since I tendency to render the crap out of my drawing. I've been making a huge effort lately to use bigger strokes, work faster and let go of perfectionism. It's been difficult, but it has also been quite liberating.

Desde Mi Ventana

Fairgrounds Cloud

Studio View Quickie

I've been having a blast painting these digital color studies of clouds. The simple matter and the medium has helped me immensely in my traditional painting. Thank Goodness for ctrl+z and unlimited art supplies :-P

Still Alive

These past months have been ultra hectic at work leaving me with very little time to draw. I did manage to doodle a bit during Thanksgiving break...

Cloud Study III

Cloud Doodles

I made these on my iPhone using Procreate. Such a neat little app!
